About Us
Hammersmith & Chiswick Landscapes (HCL) is a specialist landscaping and garden design company based in Chiswick, West London. We work on high-specification private gardens for discerning clients and take pride in maintaining exceptional standards across everything we do.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced Junior Horticulturist to join our maintenance team. While the title is junior, we do expect hands-on experience in a professional garden setting. You'll be working across a portfolio of prestigious private gardens, carrying out day-to-day horticultural tasks alongside our senior team.
Each day typically involves meeting your senior horticulturist at the first job and then travelling together to up to three client appointments. Punctuality is essential — our clients expect us to arrive on time and prepared, every time. You'll be expected to follow the lead of your senior colleague while also using your own initiative and bringing a genuine understanding of what high-end garden work looks like in practice.

- A genuine understanding of high-end garden work and the standards that come with it
- Good practical plant knowledge including identification and seasonal care
- Confidence with core techniques such as pruning and border management
- RHS Level 2 or equivalent is desirable but experience is more important
- Punctual, reliable, and well-presented — our clients expect professionalism at all times
- Able to follow direction from a senior team member while also using initiative when needed
- Physically fit and happy working outdoors in all conditions
- Hardworking and a good team player
